You could gain from fix cost conveyancing if you are an older homebuyer with a higher priced property, says the Telegraph.

The cost of conveyancing is said to hit thousands of pounds over an average homebuyer's lifetime. 

Most solicitors base their conveyancing fees on a percentage of the purchase price.

Fixed prices could prove to be a smart proposition, especially seeing as house prices are falling in various parts of the country.

Saga has reported that many people are unhappy with traditional conveyancing services and a well known online portal has suggested the average cost of conveyancing is £850.00

With house moving intrinsically linked to Stamp Duty and Estate Agents fees homebuyers have been forced to look at other areas where they can save money.

Roger Ramsden, chief executive of Saga, claimed: "Fees are traditionally calculated based on the value of the property being bought or sold". 

Ramsden explained that "People want certainty of price, with no hidden extras and access to their conveyancer when they need them."
