A family-run business has purchased its second historic hotel in Cheshire for more than £5 million following administration.
The Naylor family, which includes husband and wife duo Chris and Kate, parents Tony and Gina and brother Matthew, previously purchased Peckforton Castle in Tarporley in 2007, investing £7 million into its restoration. However, disaster struck in 2011 when a groom turned arsonist set fire to the castle, causing £5.4 million worth of damage.
Chris Naylor, of Highwater Estates and managing director of Peckforton Castle, said:
"We showed our character when we bounced-back from that setback, and we'll take that determined mentality with us into revamping Nunsmere Hall too.
"We see huge potential in Nunsmere Hall, just as we did with Peckforton Castle and we are looking forward to actioning our plans for the property."
With a track record of restoring historic properties, Chris says he is planning to revamp the Edwardian, lake-fringed estate of Nunsmere Hall Hotel, with a focus on making the interiors look less tired.
