A teacher who plunged to her death had been suffering from anxiety caused by an excessive workload, her family claims.
Laurian Bold, 31, was a much-loved chemistry teacher at Hollingworth Academy in Milnrow, Rochdale.
But her life was tragically cut short when she fell from the Rakewood Viaduct on the M62 motorway near Hollingworth Lake in February.
At an inquest into Laurian's death, her mother blamed the secondary school for her daughter's change in demeanour, suggesting that additional responsibilities had caused Laurian to suffer from severe anxiety.
The school's head teacher refutes these claims, arguing everything possible had been done to support Laurian.
Fighting back tears, Laurian's mother Gabrielle told the court;
"I believe the Academy was responsible for causing Laurian to suffer from work-related stress from which she developed severe anxiety. As such, I believe that as her employer, they have failed in their duty of care to Laurian under Health and Safety legislation.
"The school caused Laurian to become unwell in the first place. I believe that by their actions Hollingworth Academy have caused her condition and ultimately her death."
The inquest continues.
