Oldham Woman Superglued to Front Door in Cruel Prank

An Oldham woman was left standing by her front door for more than three hours after becoming superglued to the handle as a result of a cruel prank.

Fiona Crabb, 28, became attached to the handle of her front door when she returned home after spending the evening with a nearby friend. The pranksters applied superglue to the front door handle and Fiona, who didn't realise it at the time, believes she saw them running down the block as she was arriving.

Crabb, who lives in Oldham, Greater Manchester, said:

"I don't understand why anyone would do something so stupid. I'd rather not know who did it as I'd be too upset.

"I was really worried, as it was quite painful. Tony was asleep so I had to wake him up and also called my friend Sercha, who I'd been with earlier. She thought I was joking, but I persuaded her to come round and help me. She phoned the ambulance who also thought it was all a joke."

Initially believing the calls were a hoax, it took four attempts to get the emergency services to respond to her plight. Once they'd arrived, after several neighbours had already tried to assist Crabb, it took a team of paramedics and firefighters to free her so she could be taken to Royal Oldham Hospital.

After arriving at the hospital, medical professionals were able to apply a special solution to the hand to dissolve the superglue. To heal the remaining burns, Crabb must apply vegetable oil to her hand nightly while wearing a blue plastic glove.
