A community is working together to support a young girl who fell 25ft from a shopping centre escalator.
Cally Rush, 11, suffered serious head injuries after the horror fall at the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre in Rochdale town centre in May.
The Crossgates Primary School pupil, from Milnrow, was initially said to be fighting for her life following the incident. Her condition has since improved, but her parents have told friends she still faces a 'long road to recovery.'
Members of the community are now doing what they can to support Cally and her family.
Businesswoman Emma Harrison, whose daughter is in the same class as Cally, is organising a fun day to raise money for Cally's recovery and possibly send the family on holiday. She said:
"It was an idea that developed, and since we announced it the amount of people who have been in touch and messaging me saying they want to donate prizes or get involved has been incredible.
"The support is brilliant and when I spoke to Cally's dad he said it was lovely to see. In Milnrow everybody knows everybody and Cally's accident really affected people so everybody is rallying round to get her as much help as we can."
