Residents in St Ann's have this morning woken up to news that police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found outside a shop.
The man was discovered outside the Premier Express R.S. Convenience Store in Robin Hood Street just before 9.30pm on Wednesday. He was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre but later died as a result of his injuries.
Sections of Robin Hood Street remain closed today and officers have remained at the scene as they launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
Marcellus Baz at Nottingham School of Boxing has this morning paid tribute to the victim, saying:
"This young man was very well-liked in the area. I feel devastated about what happened about this young man losing his life.
"Words cannot describe the pain that the family and friends are going through and my heart goes out to them."
