Perpetrator Travels to Nottinghamshire for Repeated Sexual Assaults on a Minor

A man who repeatedly traveled to Nottinghamshire to commit sexual assaults on a teenager has been sentenced to jail. Caine Emmingham, a 21-year-old resident of Lake Drive, Weldon, Corby, drove from Northampton to Mansfield, where he carried out multiple sexual assaults on the victim.

These offenses occurred over several months throughout 2022, and they came to light when the victim confided in her mother about the incidents. Subsequently, Emmingham was apprehended following a police investigation, although he steadfastly denied all allegations.

Following a trial at Nottingham Crown Court, he was found guilty of three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child, one count of inciting sexual activity with a child, one count of causing a child to view sexual activity, and one count of participating in sexual activity in the presence of a child. However, he was acquitted of two other charges.

Emmingham appeared in court on Friday, October 6, and received a four-year prison sentence. Additionally, he was issued a restraining order and subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, which will impose strict limitations on his activities upon release from prison.

Detective Constable Richard Howe, representing Nottinghamshire Police, remarked, "Emmingham groomed this girl over many months before committing a series of extremely serious sexual offenses against her. He was aware of his victim's age and knew very well that what he was doing was illegal. I am pleased the law has now caught up with him and hope this sentence serves as a warning to others about the consequences of committing sexual offenses against children.
