Nottingham Coronavirus advice

We generally use our news items to introduce matters affecting the law, but in light of the global pandemic, we have taken this opportunity to concentrate on the Coronavirus and raise the points detailed by the NHS.

Our intention is to offer the guidance provided by the NHS and hopefully help educate those who may be unaware of the current guidelines.

The National Health Service website states that people should only leave their homes for one of the following four reasons:

  1. Shopping for basic necessities such as food and medicine.
  2. One form of exercise such as a walk, run or cycle.
  3. A medical need for themselves or to assist the vulnerable.
  4. Travelling to work if such work absolutely can not be done from home.
The NHS website also lists its guidance based on preventing the spread of the virus.

Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. Do this regularly.
Use hand sanitiser if soap and water are not available.
When you cough or sneeze you should cover your mouth and nose (not with your hands).
Use tissues, or your sleeve, when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the tissues and immediately wash your hands.

If your hands are not clean, and you should wash them regularly, then you should not touch your nose, mouth or eyes as this could spread the virus.

In the event you are showing signs of the coronavirus (high temperature or a new continuous cough) you should call the 111 service and seek further guidance.

This is clearly a difficult time for all in Nottingham, and beyond, and we wish everyone well.
