Mother of two is prosecuted after forging school documents

A 34 year old mother forged school documents so her daughter could win a school place in a close by borough.

Lura Pacheco from Chadwell Heath was fined £500 and sentenced to 100 hours of community service after she had forged the documents for her 11 year old daughter to attend a school with a better reputation in a nearby area.

Lura who works for an international recruitment company, owned up to forging a tenancy agreement in a local area in order to trick the council into offering her daughter a place at the school.

Michael Peacock who sentenced Ms Pachecho, said. "You are obviously a very good conscientious mother and like all mothers you want your children to go to the best school available."

Data obtained by The Daily Telegraph in 2011 found 420 parents entered false information on school application forms, so their sons and daughters could attend the best primary and secondary schools.

Damien White, head of Havering Council said, "Creating false documents no matter what the reason is fraud and it ultimately takes away school places for those children entitled to them."
