Man Guilty of Firearms Offences Jailed

A man has been jailed for 30 months after admitting to possessing a firearm in Nottinghamshire.

Shane Frost, 23, pleaded guilty at Nottingham Crown Court to possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Nottinghamshire Police received reports of a shot being fired in Gateford Road, Worksop, on July 3, 2017. An investigation was launched and Frost was arrested after officers searched his home in Cheapside.

Detective Sergeant David Beach of Nottinghamshire Police said:

"We're pleased with this result, Frost is a violent individual who is clearly capable of using weapons.

"We hope that this sends the message out that we will robustly investigate any report we receive and bring such offenders to justice."
