When a reckless biker was arrested for speeding, jumping red lights and doing wheelies, police were stunned to find he had been filming himself on his own helmet camera.
Police in Plymouth spotted 20 year old Lewis Shallcross roaring through the Devon streets at night doing 60mph in the dark, with no headlights on.
Shallcross, who has since admitted dangerous driving in Court told officers on the scene that he thought the speed limit was 100mph.
When police discovered he had been filming his antics around the streets and pavements of Plymouth, his camera was seized and the full extent of his high powered hell raising was clear.
Evidence from the headcam was used at Plymouth Crown Court where jurors saw Shallcross speeding through a park, narrowly missing hitting a dog, driving across a footbridge, jumping red lights and through road blocks and pulling wheelies on residential streets.
The defendant was summonsed to Court with charges of dangerous driving and driving without due care and attention.
Defence solicitor, Ali Rafati told the Court that Shallcross had bought the bike with £3,500 borrowed from his mum and had spent a further £4,000 on it.
He added that Shallcross "clearly had got a lot of growing up to do" but called him "A hard working young man who had paid a large contribution towards his legal fees and was working 32 hours a week for a roofing company".
Despite the lawyers character testimonial, Judge Darlow banned Shallcross from driving for 18 months, ordering an extended re-test after this period. He also instructed that the hapless motorist should complete 250 hours of unpaid work and pay a £60 victim surcharge.
Speaking in Court, Judge Darlow reminded Shallcross that he had, "ridden unilluminated, at high speed and for a prolonged time over a city mile before giving the officers gyp when you were pulled over".
