An obsessed stalker terrified a female victim by sending her Facebook messages using the names of notorious serial killers, a court has heard.
Aled Hutchings, 20, saw the woman in a Derby pub but rarely spoke to her. He then began sending her friend requests on Facebook using the identities of US serial killers and rapists. The friend requests were all declined.
Barrister for the prosecution, Samuel Skinner, said that on a night out, Hutchings then made threats against the woman and her boyfriend to a man he did not know was her friend.
Part of this conversation was read out in court. It said:
"When I find out where they live I am going to break into their house. I am going to stab (the man) to death. If (she) refuses to have sex with me, I am going to stab her as well."
After being told of the comments, the woman reported Hutchings to the police and he was later arrested and charged with making threats to kill.
In mitigation, Esther Harrison said Hutchings was dyslexic, on the autistic spectrum, and had a mental health disorder.
Recorder Edward Boydell handed Hutchings a 14-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and ordered him to undertake 100 hours of unpaid work. A restraining order is also in place banning him from contacting the pair.
