A drug dealer who was virtually housebound because of a rare degenerative eye condition sold cannabis to his friends from his Derby home.
Derby Crown Court heard that 25-year-old Kamran Mohammed was "severely visually impaired" because of the condition, and that he spent time smoking drugs in his bedroom where his friends would visit him.
Mr Mohammed admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply, and was jailed for 14 months.
The court heard that Mohammed had a number of previous convictions. In 2009 he was fined for possessing cannabis, and in 2011 he was sentenced to nine months in a young offenders' institution for possessing cannabis with intent to supply. Last year he was given a six-month jail sentence suspended for 18 months for possessing various drugs including cannabis and cocaine.
Sarah Allen, prosecuting, said:
"He told police they would find cannabis in a drawer. Police recovered digital scales, over 100 resalable plastic bags and various quantities of cannabis divided into 11 separate bags – a total weight of 108.9g. The police officer gave a valuation of between £680 and £960."
