Redundancy Looms for 41 Staff at Keoghs Law Firm

Redundancy is firmly on the minds of staff at insurance law firm Keoghs this month as the company is restructured.

In a Law Society Gazette report, Keoghs have confirmed that 41 staff are at risk of redundancy with the potential job losses falling mainly from their Coventry office.

As both fee-earners and support personnel look set to be faced with redundancy, Keoghs made the tough decisions following a restructure of their Counter Fraud Decision.  There is also a link to the Personal Injury Reforms of 2013 as it has been reported since these that 'market requirements for insurance fraud work have reduced'.

Speaking from the firm's headquarters in Bolton, a statement was made claiming that further to Keoghs appointment to the Allianz legal panel, its' market share in the defendant insurance sector has continued to grow.

A spokesman from the law firm defends the restructure, saying "The post-reforms market environment has yet to stabilise."  He also went on to maintain "It is regrettable that we have to lose colleagues from our business."

Despite the redundancies, Keoghs are still recruiting and looking to fill 51 vacancies right across their business and with a total workforce of 1,200 are still very much in business.
