The Collective Consultation Period is being Reduced to 45 Days.
Ferdinand Kelly advices that this affects our Birmingham and national clients. As of the 6th April there will be a major change to employment law where an employer seeks to make 100 or more staff redundant. The change in legislation is designed to :
improve the quality of consultation
ensure employers can restructure effectively to respond to changing market conditions
balance the interests of redundant employees with those who remain.
Acas will issue a non-statutory code of practice that will address the key principles of redundancy consultation.
