Twelve Arrested In Dawn Raids across Manchester

A dozen more people have been arrested after a second wave of dawn drugs raids across Manchester.

The raids involved 15 addresses in Harpurhey, Newton Heath, Moston, Salford and Failsworth.

Specially trained police officers stormed the properties just before 6am on Thursday, February 9. Twelve men were arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs. A cannabis farm, taser gun, and an amount of Class A drugs were also recovered from the properties.

Detective Inspector Paul Walker, of Greater Manchester Police's Organised Crime Unit, said:

"We are dedicated to dismantling crime groups who blight our communities and seek to make profits from putting drugs on our streets.

"These raids show how committed we are to tackling these groups and we will continue to root them out.

"Our work is only possible through support from partner agencies and the community who come forward and report information to us."

The arrests were the second set of Operation Rudrow warrants. Last week, another 15 properties were raided across Ancoats, Miles Platting, New Islington and Harpurhey. Twelve men were arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs and have since been charged.
