Residents are leaving a landmark Salford regeneration project following a sustained campaign of crime and vandalism.
The so-called 'upside down' houses on the Chimney Pot Park estate were snapped up, mostly by young professionals working at MediaCityUK, when the terraced houses were redeveloped by Urban Splash in 2007.
The swish new homes were transformed as part of an £88 million regeneration of the Langworthy estate following a huge exodus in the 1990s because of intolerable levels of crime and antisocial behaviour.
But crime appears to be on the rise again, with most of the 12 houses on Wall Street being attacked with bricks or eggs, according to reports.
One resident said:
"For me, it's infuriating more than anything else. I saw one lad in our car park taking a picture of a push-bike. The next day it was stolen.
"It was a problem even before the brickings. I've never seen the police or security from the management company. My partner and I will be moving out."
Urban Bubble managing director Michael Howard said he had brought in a private security firm to patrol the area 'for the foreseeable' future.
