Plans to build 150 homes on the site of a former Sheffield school are to be given the go ahead, after they have been recommended for approval by council planners.
It is intended that the properties will sit alongside a new £6 million football hub that Sheffield Council and the Football Association plan to build at the site.
The Westfield Crescent site has been empty for almost a decade after Westfield School moved to a new site on Eckington Road, back in December 2006.
Now, Miller Homes plans to build a mixture of two, three, four and five bedroom houses on the land. Plans will also include a new access road off Moss Way to minimise any potential traffic problems.
A report by planning officers, said:
"The dwellings will provide adequate living conditions for future residents and provide sufficient amenity and privacy. Furthermore, the design and layout is such that the scheme will not have a negative impact on the amenities of existing residents.
"The highways within the site have been designed to reduce traffic speed and adequate off-street parking will be provided."
