In the recent Queen's speech the government has promised to cap care costs for the elderly at £72,000 as part of the Care Bill. This measure is being taken to prevent the current situation where many pensioners are being forced into the position of having to sell their family home in order to fund nursing home fees.

As the elderly population increases more families are finding themselves faced with the difficult decisions that have to me made when  a parent or elderly relative has to go into a home. This can also be coupled with issues regarding mental capacity or situations when an individual can no longer deal with their own affairs.
