In September heavy fog caused a 130 car pileup on the London bound carriageway of the Sheppey Bridge Crossing near Sheerness in Kent.
This has prompted calls for speed restrictions and lighting to be introduced at the location of the crash.
Police said it was "truly miraculous" that nobody was killed in the crash, only eight people were seriously injured but many others needed hospital treatment after the pileup.
Lives were only saved due to an unidentified lorry driver whose quick thinking was used as he blocked the entrance to the bridge with his vehicle.
In bad weather, Edmund King, the president of the AA, said there was a "good case" for reducing the speed limit on the bridge.
Councillor Ken Pugh, from Swale Borough Council, has been campaigning for lighting and speed restrictions since the bridge was opened in 2006. "If the bridge had been lit properly and speed signs had come up, perhaps the tragedy would not have happened," he has said.
The idea of installing lighting on the bridge will be looked in to by police. This has been highlighted by the area's Conservative MP Gordon Henderson since it was opened in July 2006.
