Notting Hill Woman Appears in Court After Murders

A woman has appeared in court accused of killing her partner and daughter after both bodies were found at a home in Colville Square, Notting Hill on Friday 27th February.

Shelley Christopher, 36, has been accused of killing her four-year-old daughter, Sophia Christopher, and a man in his forties believed to be her partner, Emanuel Amphahasa. The bodies, found at the flat in Notting Hill a week and a half ago, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers forced entry to the Colville Square property in Notting Hill, West London after concerns were raised for the occupants on the evening of that Friday. A second child was also found and taken to hospital, where she remains in a stable condition. Ms Christopher was later arrested over the deaths, which Scotland Yard are treating as "unexplained".

Ms Christopher, who also faces a further charge of attempted murder, was unfit to attend her first crown court appearance at the Old Bailey last Thursday 5th March after appearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 3rd March. Judge Christopher Moss QC has refused bail and adjourned the case to a plea and case management hearing scheduled for Thursday 21st May.
