A former Russian beauty queen has been awarded with a £3.3 million divorce settlement after the judge rules the outcome "fair".
Ekaterina Parfenova, 42, and her husband Richard Fields, 59, spent more than £1 million on legal expenses during their bitter divorce battle, despite judges' pleas for the pair to settle out of court. Of the couple's joint £6 million fortune, Mr Fields was left with £2.6 million.
Aside from a share of their joint investments Ms Parfenova received a lump-sum of £1.2 million, less than half of the £2.6 million she originally sought, and £300,000 a year in maintenance.
Mr Justice Holman, speaking at the Royal Courts of Justice during his three-hour judgement, said:
"I've striven to reach an outcome which is fair to both of you.
"There are no winners and no losers. You've not got as much as you wanted and he's having to pay more than he wished to pay.
"What I sincerely hope is that each of you take away the lesson of this bruising experience. It was a boxing match. It wasn't edifying."
Mr Fields has also been instructed to contribute £50,000 a year for the upkeep of their two children, who will live with their mother.
