A rat infested home had 40 years' worth of rubbish and filth as high as the ceilings which took a team of six people a month to clear.
The privately owned home in Cleethorpes was alerted to the authorities, when a neighbour noticed rats entering the home from an adjoining property.
The house took a month to clear by a team of six under a warrant issued by Grimsby Magistrates Court via the Public Health Act 1936.
The clearing operation which began in August, saw 144 tonnes of waste removed which was equal to the same weight as a jumbo jet or a small blue whale.
The foundations of the property need substantial work as the heat from the rubbish had started to decay the foundations.
Neighbours living next door to the house, identified the owner as a single elderly man. They were shocked as he is, apparently, usually a smartly dressed individual.
An anonymous neighbour told Daily Mail Online readers the occupant, who was a retired accountant in his seventies, had lived in the house for at least 40 years.
He goes on to say, "He is a very private man and I am shocked because he always dresses well and would always stop to tip his hat and exchange pleasantries in the street. We had no idea what was going on. It is very sad."
