Cheshire Named the Best Place for Rural Businesses

A new study carried out by the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) has named Cheshire the best place to set up a rural business.

The Country Land and Business Association, which represents farmers and rural businesses in the region, rated each county on its ability to support a rural business, with Cheshire coming out on top. Counties were judged on categories such as broadband coverage, planning policies and business support among others.

Councillor Michael Jones, of Cheshire East Council, said:

"This is fantastic news and sends out a strong message that Cheshire East really is the place to do business.

"We take real pride in supporting our rural community as it represents not only our heritage but our future too."

Cheshire East is also home to the £28.5 million Connecting Cheshire project, which aims to increase broadband coverage to 96 per cent of Cheshire by the end of 2015 and 98 per cent by 2017.
