Police have discovered a major drug stash at a house in Doncaster. The haul included £1 million worth of heroin, as well as five cannabis plants and around £1,400 in cash. Officers also recovered another 75 grams of heroin from another house in the area, as part of the same operation.
Following the discovery, four men and a woman have been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug, and have appeared before Doncaster magistrates.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said, "Five people from Doncaster have appeared in court after police recovered drugs with an estimated street value of £1 million.
"Officers uncovered the drugs following a search of a property in Doncaster on Wednesday, where approximately 5.7 kilogrammes of class A drug heroin, with an estimated street value of around £1 million was recovered.
"Forming a further part of the operation, officers also uncovered 75 grams of heroin at a second house in the Doncaster area."
Last week a stash of heroin worth £200,000 was discovered when officers pulled over a car on the M1, near Meadowhall.
