A masked man has stormed into a Doncaster supermarket and threatened staff with a knife before stealing money from the till.
The incident happened at the Co-operative supermarket on Crossland Way at around 10pm on Saturday 7th May. The masked man demanded that the terrified member of staff opened the till before stealing the money it contained, and fleeing the scene.
He is described as around 6ft tall, of slim build, and is said to have been wearing a grey jumper and light blue jacket.
Investigating Officer Detective Constable Steve Ramsbottom, said:
"Fortunately the member of staff was not injured, however they are understandably very distressed by the incident. We would appeal to anyone who was in or around the shop at the time or saw or heard anything suspicious to get in touch.
"We are following a number of lines of enquiry, including reviewing CCTV, and welcome any information that will lead to the arrest of this individual.
"I would ask shop owners and customers to be vigilant around store closing times and report anything suspicious to us."
