A man has been arrested by Humberside police in connection with an armed robbery at a petrol station in Barton.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested after an incident of armed robbery at a Barton petrol station this week and remains in police custody, helping officers with their enquiries. Speaking with a local accent, the suspect was described as having a slim build, facial hair and approximately 5' 6" tall.
A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said:
"The incident happened at shortly before 9pm on Wednesday, January 27, when a man in a motorcycle helmet walked into a petrol station in Ferriby Road and made a small purchase.
"At that point, he is said to have threatened the female cashier with a knife and demanded cash.
"A quantity of money was handed over and he escaped on foot in the direction of the nearby funeral directors."
