Father sells sons car for 1p on Gumtree

In a bid to shame his 17 year old son into being a safer driver, Steve Clark posted his son's car previously valued at £2,000 for just 1p on Gumtree.

When reckless son, Nathaniel had been driving for just nine days he took a corner too fast on his way home from work and flipped the Honda Civic onto its roof.

Luckily the Scottish teenager escaped from the horror crash without injuries and his shocked parents were devastated to receive the telephone call.

Since the smash which happened between Forfar and Monikie earlier this month, Nathaniel's dad decided to take action by advertising the remains of his son's first car on Gumtree to shame the boy racer.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he and his wife have received floods of supportive messages from other parents since posting pictures of the smash, clearly showing the damaged vehicle upside down.

Mr Clark added, "It was mainly just to shock people and let them know what happens out there when their kids go for a drive, how hard it is for us parents to sit at home waiting on a dreaded phone call or wondering if they're going to come home in one piece".

Said to be shocked and mortified by the advert, Nathaniel, an apprentice for a commercial vehicle dealers was suitably embarrassed about his beloved 1.4 Honda Civic being plastered online.

Mr Clark is surprised about the amount of interest in the wrecked Honda and admits, "It seems a 1.4 was too much for him to handle.  He talked the talk but certainly didn't walk the walk – he will be walking now, for a very long time".
