Doncaster Police Tase Man After Criminal Damage Rampage

Doncaster police have confirmed the use of tasers to apprehend an armed man who was causing criminal damage in a Doncaster village.

Doncaster police have apprehended a man carrying out a rampage of criminal damage to a number of vehicles in the Dunscroft area of Doncaster earlier this month. Armed with a variety of weapons, including a hammer and a carving knife, police tased the man at a property as attempts were made to restrain him.

Inspector Mark Payling, of South Yorkshire Police, said:

"I want to reassure people that the person police believe to be responsible for these incidents is no longer on the streets.

"The man was using a carving knife, a hammer and a spanner to damage windscreens, wing mirrors, and pretty much any window he could find.

"Investigations are continuing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact police and help take this investigation further."

The man, whose age is unknown, is believed to have caused criminal damage to at least 12 vehicles in the area.
