In a recent operation, law enforcement officers conducted a raid on a property located in Auckland Road, Wheatley, revealing a substantial cannabis cultivation operation spanning multiple rooms.
The discovered cannabis plants, estimated to be over 550 in number, are individually valued at approximately £1,000 each, contributing to a total estimated worth of around £555,000.
Following the raid on October 3, the authorities promptly destroyed the seized cannabis plants.
This significant operation led to the seizure and elimination of cannabis valued at over half a million pounds in Doncaster.
SYP Inspector Lisa Bird emphasized the importance of tackling cannabis farms, highlighting their connection to organized crime groups and the considerable income they generate. She stated, "It is in no way a 'harmless' drug, and we remain committed to eradicating it from our streets due to the considerable misery it can cause."
In connection with this operation, Hai Nguyen, a 38-year-old resident of Auckland Road, has been charged with offenses related to the production of a controlled Class B drug. Nguyen appeared before Doncaster Magistrates' Court on October 4 and was remanded in custody pending a future appearance at Sheffield Crown Court on November 2.
