Three controversial housing developments in Ellesmere Port remain under consideration with planning officials.
On Stanney Lane, a campaign to save a popular pub is gathering pace. Fears were raised that The Grace Arms was set to follow others in closing its doors, when Birkenhead-based Magenta Living announced plans for up to 42 apartments at the site.
But the prospect led to objections, and the 'Save the Grace Arms' Facebook campaign quickly attracted several hundred 'likes.'
Ellesmere Port and Neston MP Justin Madders also raised the wider issue of pub closures in Parliament, mentioning The Grace in particular.
In Great Sutton, 52 affordable homes are proposed at the Sycamore Garden Centre. One concerned resident said, "Considering there are many plots of empty land across the town that would make more sense for affordable housing, it begs the question why they would want to choose this site?"
Elsewhere in Great Sutton, the Sutton Pub is the subject of revised plans for five one-bed bungalows and 14 one-bed apartments. Previous plans to convert the pub into flats for supported living were met with 65 objections and a petition featuring well over 100 names. All three applications are with borough planners.
