Village in Devon to Be Sold For 10 Million

The rich and famous including Sir Richard Branson have been seen holidaying there, it has pretty cobbled streets, thatched houses and a picturesque beach. It provided inspiration to Agatha Christie.

Now Bantham in South Devon is being sold as part of an Estate valued at £10 Million with the majority of the properties being tenanted.

Residents of the Estate have feared the 25 home village could go to a "faceless financial institution".

Barbara Tucker, a tenant and an employee at the local shop, said: "We are used to millionaires coming to visit here as it is so picturesque." She continued to explain that, "our real fear is we will be sold to a faceless financial institution who will not care about Bantham at all. "

Mrs Tucker said, "Many people here have lived in Bantham for 60 years or more, with some tenancies being passed down through several generations of the same family."
