An award-winning local pharmacy company in Weymouth has sold its business to national chemist firm, Well.
Angel Pharmacies, which runs four branches and an online prescription service in Weymouth, has been bought by Well (formerly known as the Co-Operative Pharmacy) as part of their £200 million five-year growth plan. The purchase of Angel Pharmacies, which was first launched in 1995 by owners Dipan and Sejel Shah, is the second acquisition to take place since the Well re-branding.
Christian Logue, Portfolio and Business Development Director at Well, said:
"It's a very exciting time as the business continues to grow with this latest acquisition and with the roll-out of our new brand name across all Co-operative Pharmacy branches on UK high-streets continues at pace.
"Angel Pharmacy is an award-winning local business and very popular within the local communities it serves. We will facilitate increased access to high quality pharmacy services that deliver improved health and support the NHS in the area."
The four pharmacies, which will carry on using the Angel Pharmacy brand for the next few months, are set to be rebranded to Well next year.
