Jade Blinco, an aspiring model, from the West Midlands needed two wisdom teeth removed at her local hospital but it all went horribly wrong when the dentist's drill overheated and burnt her lip.
Miss Blinco, 24 went to her appointment at Birmingham City Hospital on September 1 2011 and was given general anaesthetic. When she awoke with an excruitiating pain, no one told her any information, she was given two doses of morphine which sent Jade back to sleep.
Since being left with a scar, Miss Blinco has had to quit her job as a nursery worker as the scar was scaring the children and no modelling agencies will hire Jade.
Jade said, "I just felt ugly, being a model I took a lot of pictures of myself and took care over my appearance, and suddenly I looked a monster."
Miss Blinco has been told she may need plastic surgery to try and improve the appearance of the scar, however since the accident her lip may never go back to looking the same as before.
The hospital have made an apology to Jade who has had to live with the trauma over the past three years. The trust's investigation revealed the incident could have been prevented as the faulty drill had already burnt another patient's lip.
