The two questions are why do I, as an individual, need a Will and secondly what is Probate ?
A Will protects your family's, and loved ones, interests in the event of your death. It is a way for you to nominate who gets what from the monies you leave behind.
Unfortunately we all pass on, at some point, and it makes sense to make sure our affairs are in order beforehand to reduce the stress on those we leave behind.
If you chose not to leave a Will the government decides who gets your money.
There are a lot of confusing legal terms that we've missed out here (Testator, Executor, Intestacy) but in summary the following people should make a Will.
Those who are looking to reduce the Inheritance Tax there family will pay the government.
Those with children under 18 who want to confirm who will look after them.
Those who aren't married but wish to leave money to their partners.
Those who've already written a Will but their circumstances have changed.
Those who want to leave money to charity or third parties.
If you are in Crumpsall or the wider Manchester area we will gladly act on your behalf.
