Mother seeks negligence after miscarrying four babies

A mother of three has been left heartbroken after receiving surgery which has damaged her womb.

Leanne Bilon, 30, had the surgery at Croydon University hospital but within two years she lost four babies due to the womb operation.

Mrs Bilon, was due to give birth to her third son in 2012 but at only 25 weeks pregnant she experienced contractions and was rushed to hospital.

Nurses at the hospital told her to begin pushing out the baby boy whilst she wasn't fully dilated. After realising their mistake Leanne was supposed to have an emergency caesarean but it was too dangerous.

She said: "I was wheeled back to delivery and left in the room alone while my baby died inside me. My baby was stillborn just hours later."

Her chances of giving birth safely again have been reduced as pushing a baby whilst not being fully dilated can damage the cervix.

While 18 weeks pregnant, Mrs Bilon miscarried twin girls in 2013. She also lost a baby boy named Shay at 22 weeks in January 2014.

Since her miscarriages, she has been told the chances of her giving birth safely again have been reduced to 40%.

Director of nursing and midwifery at Croydon Health Services, Zoe Packman, had admitted to failings in services and said, "I would like to again express the trust's sincere condolences to Mrs Bilon."
