In a tragic incident this week near a bustling London train station, a teenage boy lost his life in a stabbing incident. The 17-year-old fell victim to a knife attack on Sutton High Street at approximately 7 pm.
Prompt responses from the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service (LAS) saw officers and paramedics attempting to save the teenager's life, but unfortunately, he was declared deceased at the scene. As of now, no arrests have been made, and an urgent manhunt is underway to locate the perpetrator.
The next of kin for the victim have yet to be notified, and the authorities are actively conducting inquiries into the incident. A spokesperson from Scotland Yard reported, "Police and LAS were called to Sutton High Street at about 7:08 pm on Tuesday, December 5, following reports that a teenager had been stabbed. On arrival, officers found a 17-year-old male suffering from stab wounds. He was treated at the scene but sadly died as a result of his injuries. Enquiries are ongoing to trace his next of kin. No arrests have been made."
In response to the incident, the affected area was cordoned off, leading to the closure of Sutton station, with service resumption expected around 5 am. Meanwhile, an unrelated incident occurred on the same night in Hackney, where a 42-year-old woman was fatally shot, and two others were hospitalized with gunshot wounds. A 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man from the stabbing incident were also transported to a major trauma center, where their conditions are currently being assessed.
