Nurse jailed for abusing 14 year old girl

A nurse who was found guilty of abusing a 14 year old girl has been sentenced to three years and two months in prison.

36 year old Graeme Gordon worked for nine years at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton before his double life was revealed at Reading Crown Court earlier this year.

At a recent disciplinary hearing, Gordon was struck off the Nursing and Midwifery Council's register after the panel found that his 'fitness to practice had been impaired'.

Although Gordon was unable to attend the meeting which sealed his fate as he was already serving a custodial sentence at Oxfordshire's Bullingdon Prison, the hearing banned him from working as a nurse.

Thames Valley Police have confirmed that there is no evidence of any criminal activity in Gordon's work although he was sacked from his post as a nurse immediately after his arrest.

Gordon was reported in the Mail Online to have groomed the 14 year old school girl on the internet before taking her to a hotel and sexually abusing her.

The former nurse was also charged with possession of indecent images of children although none of the offences are reported to have taken place at hospital or involving patients.
