Lasting Power of Attorney Bolton

Appointing a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) gives you the peace of mind knowing that whatever happens, your finances will be looked after by somebody that you trust and who has your best interests at heart.

If you are suffering an illness, injury, or simply old age, our solicitors can give you all the advice you need to make sure your finances are going to be properly looked after.

We understand that this can be a difficult subject to discuss, but our lawyers have a wealth of experience guiding clients through this challenging subject.

To create an LPA document the donor must register with the Office of Public Guardian. This can only be done if the donor has the mental capacity.

The attorney must have the donor's best interests in mind when it comes to any major decisions, such as the following;

 Arranging property repairs

 Investing money

 Medical treatment the donor may need

 Paying the mortgage and bills

 Selling property

 Where the donor should live if they are too ill to live alone

The donor may also wish to appoint a Personal Welfare attorney. This individual must be over 18 years of age and will consent or refuse medical treatments or surgery on behalf of the donor.

Whatever your situation, contact our Bolton solicitors on 0345 603 0708.
