Changes to Medical Negligence Legislation

April saw the introduction of the Legal Aid Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012. This means that in most instances legal aid is not available to individuals making a claim for clinical negligence.

There is one area of exception to this ruling which applies to cases where a brain injury has occurred from pregnancy and up to eight weeks after the birth.
