Suburbia, the Hale bar popular with celebrities and footballers, has closed its doors after falling into administration.
Rumours had been circulating that the Ashley Road venue, which only opened on Friday and Saturday nights, was set to shut up shop. This week, a note from Manchester-based insolvency firm Robson Kay confirmed the news.
The bar is now up for grabs to prospective new owners, with a price tag of £100,000. The premises are fully equipped and ready to trade.
Administrators said that in the last accounts – to April 2016 – Suburbia, via Suburbia Cocktail Company Ltd, made a profit of £33,390 on a turnover of £556,000.
The rent for the unit is £68,000 a year, with 10 years remaining on the lease. A rent review is due in five years' time.
Suburbia had been owned by bar group Living Ventures, who sold it to then manager Tom Thorton-Brookes two years ago. At the time he told the Manchester Evening News:
"We want to open at least four of these, and I've got an idea for a couple of new bar concepts as well. I'm not going to limit myself and say I'll only have this many; if I end up with 15 or 20, then happy days!"
