Altrincham Town Centre Going From Strength to Strength

Community leaders, business owners and council chiefs believe the steps taken in recent years to regenerate Altrincham are beginning to pay dividends for the town.

Bosses at Trafford Council, Altrincham Forward and the new Business Improvement District (BID) say they will continue working together to make the town an attractive place to live, work and shop, when the new BID comes into force in April.

For the past five years Altrincham Forward has been working towards a vision to transform Altrincham into a lively, bustling, modern market town. Since then Altrincham has benefitted from large-scale regeneration projects that have brought significant investment to the area.

These include the new Transport Interchange, the long-awaited Altrincham Hospital, and the £1m Altrincham Market scheme.

It has also delivered a package of business support initiatives, including the Town Centre Loan scheme, which has already helped 14 new businesses to open.

Councillor Sean Anstee, chairman of Altrincham Forward and leader of Trafford Council, said "I am delighted with the progress that has been made by Altrincham Forward over the past five years and would like to give reassurance that Trafford Council remains focused on the future growth of Altrincham and will continue to support Altrincham Forward, and the BID Company."
