One man has been seriously injured and another hurt at a construction site in Altrincham after a scissor lift they were working on collapsed.
The contractors, who were working on the A556 Knutsford to Bowdon bypass scheme, were left injured when their scissor lift fell at the site on Yarwoodheath Lane, Rostherne. Emergency services were called shortly after and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that crews, specialist units and support fire engines attended the scene.
A worker at The Swan Pub, approximately half a mile away at Bucklow Hill, said:
"We heard the fire and ambulance service at about 4.50pm.
"There were three fire engines and two ambulances going towards the large roundabout. We saw them going past."
It is not yet know what injuries the two men suffered but emergency services were able to bring the two men to safety before taking them to hospital.
