A Stockport mum is appealing for the driver who knocked her young son off his bike, to come forward.
12-year-old Louis Smith was cycling to school when he was knocked off his bicycle by a driver who clipped the rear-wheel of his bike.
The youngster was thrown from his bike and suffered cuts and bruises to his body. The female driver stopped to make sure Louis was not badly injured, but then left the scene.
Louis' mother, Sarah McGrath, is calling for the driver to come forward. She said, "I don't want to get her into trouble, and she might have been on her way to work or school, but as a mum myself, I just think she should have brought him home or waited with him, that's what I would have done."
She continued, "He had x-rays on his arms and wrists and he hasn't broken anything, but he's covered in cuts and bruises and has blood blisters on his hands."
The family confirmed that it had reported the incident to Greater Manchester Police, who intend to speak to Louis about the accident.
