Plans for five new tower blocks containing almost 1,000 new homes will go before council planning chiefs later this week.
The blueprints are the latest development in a larger, 20-year, £650m regeneration project based around Chapel Street and New Bailey.
According to plans, the towers will be 33, 21, 22, 21, and 16-storeys high, and will be accompanied by a 10-level multi-storey car park.
It is hoped that the 20-year project will create around 11,000 new jobs as well as almost 200,000m² of commercial space, and 24,000m² of retail and leisure space.
The masterplan is Salford's largest ever planning application and covers 17.5 hectares – the equivalent of 21 football pitches.
A 143-bed Premier Inn hotel has already been completed at the site, alongside a 637-space car park. Other projects already completed include a transformation of the A6 corridor, the One New Bailey office development, and the Vimto gardens plot.
